Tracy has nearly 20 years of experience in HIM operations and revenue cycle management including billing, patient financial services, financial counseling, and insurance. Tracy has overseen day-to-day operations of multiple complex, teaching and trauma facilities, in addition to experience in:

  • Developing and updating policies, procedures, productivity standards, and educational measures for coding and auditing
  • Successfully conducting coder auditing that included analyzing audit findings to identify root causes to prevent recurrence of errors and providing feedback to coders for continued growth and development of their coding skills
  • CDI for a large health system
  • Creating and managing action plans to ensure compliance for 10 hospitals
  • Managing Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) reviews for the state of Alabama
  • Start up and implementation of new Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) sites
  • Conducting Chargemaster (CDM) reviews

Tracy is currently enrolled at Western Governors University where she is pursuing a BA in Health Informatics (making her eligible for RHIA). She is an active member of AHIMA, including its Mentor Program, through which Tracy offers industry and career advice to students and new AHIMA members. Tracy is also active in FHIMA and NAPW (National Association of Professional Women) and serves on the Advisory Board for the Coding and Billing program at South Florida State College.
